Hematology and Oncology

Hematologists at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine study blood and bone marrow, and deal with such diseases as leukemia and anemia. Oncologists study the causes, diagnosis and treatment of cancer in all its forms.

The studies of hematology and oncology reach across many disciplines at UNM. Our physicians and researchers work through the University of New Mexico Cancer Center, the Official Cancer Center of the State of New Mexico and the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in the state.
